RCEF Minutes – Regular Meeting – April 13, 2021

Call to Order 

*Meeting Called to order by President Mary Patterson, 6:30 p.m. at Swanson Pickle Company.  

Roll Call 

*Also attending were trustees Mike Pierson, Justin Wilson, Denny Emery and Katie Hensley; Hailey Mabrito (on speaker phone);  absent: Paul Borgman, Mary Arends, Marty Heiss, Jason Helsen and Adam Sheridan. 

Approval of the Agenda 

*The agenda was approved unanimously on motion by Katie with support from Denny.  

Approval of Minutes  

*Minutes of the December 22, 2020 meeting were unanimously approved on motion by Katie with support from Mary.  Finance Report-Jason provided numbers for Mary showing a fund balance at the end of quarter 4, 2020 of $294,596.59. *Current spendable balance $6,636.87 ($1,028.99 in grants approved tonight and $2,000 for spring scholarships deducted). *Finance report unanimously approved on motion by Denny with support from Justin.

Grant requests-Tracy Lemkie-Full STEAM ahead $399; David Smith-Physical Ed equip-ping pong $500; Aubree Janose-Early  Childhood-Spin disc $129.99-unanimously approved on motion by Mike with support from Denny.  

Scholarships-already deducted from spendable balance.  

RHS Graduation-Sunday May 17; RCEF will provide water; unanimously approved on motion by Katie with support from Denny.  Senior Awards Night-Thursday May 13, 6 p.m. We will not present our scholarships to help keep numbers in the gym down  (COVID restrictions-max 375 in RHS gym).  

Senior Activities-outlined by Justin: Friday May 7, senior cookout; May 8-outdoor prom with meal; Saturday May 16- parade and  fireworks.  

Taste of Ravenna-Date set for Thursday November 4; Mary will reserve Moss Ridge banquet center.  Election of Officers-on advice of counsel (Adam) we fulfilled the by-law requirements in a short year by unanimously re-electing  our same slate of officers: President-Mary Patterson, Vice President-Denny Emery, Treasurer-Jason Helsen, Secretary-Mike Pierson.  *Next Meeting-was set for Tuesday August 10, 6:30 p.m. at Thatcher Park.
