Proposed Minutes- Regular Meeting of 24 October 2017

Call to Order
Meeting called to order by Mary Patterson at 6:30 p.m. at the Swanson Pickle Offices.

Roll Call
Those in attendance were Mary Patterson, Ken Punter, Jason Helsen, Ken Patterson Sr., Marty Heiss, Mary Arends, Denny Emery and Dee Swanson. Absent was Mike Pierson.

Approval of Agenda
The agenda was approved unanimously with a motion from Denny Emery and second from Jason Helsen.

Approval of the Minutes
Minutes of the RCEF regular meeting of 12 September 2017 were approved unanimously with a motion from Dee Swanson and a second from Marty Heiss.

Correspondence
The 3rd Quarter fund statement from CFFMC was received along with a donor list. The statement is posted on the website.

Financial Report
There is currently over $185,000 in the CFFMC fund and the checkbook has over $2,000 in its account. Checks were written to Sickle's Consulting for $350 and to Melissa Thatcher for $675 with an additional check written at the meeting to Melissa for $210 for a total of $885 paid out thus far. This is for 59 hours of work to date.

President's Report
Mrs. President stated that we have approved two grants for school projects. One to Kristi May for $250, used to display art work and the other to Shari Luce for S.T.E.M. in the amount of $460. (There is about $300 left in grant money for this year). There was unanimous consent to approve the president's report on motion by Denny Emery and support by Marty Heiss.

Old Business
Motion by Ken Punter and seconded by Ken Patterson Sr. to increase the amount payable to Melissa Thatcher from $500 to $1000 as needed to finish the class alumni lists. This was approved by email vote previously. Melissa is being paid $15 per hour. Motion was passed unanimously.

New Business
Dee Swanson wrote a donor letter and suggested that we each send it out to 10 names that we will be provided. This is to be done at the beginning of December. Motion by Denny Emery and Second by Dee Swanson. Passed unanimously. Mrs. President will get us a digital copy of the letter to use as a format.

Miscellaneous

Wrapping up details for the Taste of Ravenna.
1. Don Swanson will present award to Ralph Rogers and also speak about the award for Mr. Kennedy.
2. Ken Patterson Sr. will be picking up the food at Ryke's.
3. Setup for the event will be at 1p.m. on Wednesday 1 November at Moss Ridge.
4. Karen Barker donated a Michigan State crock full of natural products.
5. Mike Pierson is donating a Nu-Wave Digital Brio Air Fryer, Hersey's Chocolate cook book and a subscription to the Ravenna Independent.
6. Need item descriptions/cost to Mary Patterson by Tuesday the 31st of October. This is for baskets and those items to be auctioned.
7. Ken Patterson Sr. and Denny Emery stated that the beer and wine selection is set.
8. Dee Swanson stated that all food products are in the process and looking good.
9. There will be 5 auction items and that is on track. The playground duck, table, weekend get-a-way, MI/MI State baskets and the Frauenthal Theater play with dining at Catz are the items.
10. There are 2 clocks being donated that will be used as door prizes.
11. RCEF members are to be at Moss Ridge not later than 6 p.m. for the event. Please wear your name tag.

Adjounment

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. on motion by Jason Helsen and second by Denny Emery. Motion was passed unanimously.
